East Point Church of Christ Mission Works

East Point Young Adult Missions
It is exciting to see young people who are leaving their homes and families to do serious Kingdom business. It is our desire that as many young adults as would like to go to a foreign field, will have the opportunity through our generous gifts toward their mission goals.

It is our hope that our teen's hearts are committed to Jesus and His desire to reconcile the world to His Father. Because of this desire our high school graduates who have a positive spiritual track record can go just about anywhere in the world. Maybe some will commit their lives to a mission field full time because we game them this opportunity.

If you know of a young adult here who has the heart to serve in a mission capacity, get them in contact with the Mission Committee to see what help is available.

Zimbabwe, Africa
Because there are no doctors available to the Nhowe mission area, we built a hospital. Because there was no one to help children who lost their parents to AIDS we are building an orphanage. Because there are so many children who have lost their parents to this dreadful disease we have come to assist these children with food, clothing and an education. They can now live with their relatives and not be taken to an orphanage. They have the comfort of family and the bridge to a bright future because of our efforts. The task is daunting, but our God is greater than their adversity. Let's keep their hope alive through our consistent generous giving.

Because Washington and Alice Mhlanga are willing to serve: thousands will see Jesus and bless His name. Through their effort with the hospital, the new orphan program, and the World Bible School outreach, Zimbabwe will be a glorious success in God's kingdom. Let's pray for our brothers and sisters in Zimbabwe to overcome their difficulties not by might, not by sword, but by the power of the Spirit. Zechariah 4:6

    Mexico
Ask anyone who has been to Mexico if they thought it was worth the time. We are sure they will tell you they wouldn't trade that experience for anything! We mix time, travel, and singing together (not to mention, a little concrete) and we come up with a life changing recipe. If you have a desire to do some type of mission work, you should think about going to Mexico for church building or for putting on a Vacation Bible School. Of course if you don't want to go just put some cash toward the project and we'll do the rest!

Meagan Hawley
Meagan Hawley has another year serving in Zambia at the Namwiango Mission. She is involved in several activities such as mentoring, evangelism and teaching orphans, along with Bible studies with young women. We give praise and honor to God for her dedication. Her desire to give help to all those she is in contact with serves as an example to all of us. We pray for Meagan to have an eternal impact on the lives she touches while she is in Zambia.

World Bible School
Would you like to reach out to other countries with the good news of the Gospel? You can help reach out to thousands who are learning the Good News about Jesus through the "World English Speaking Institute." Help find key people in the Philippines through correspondence courses. Ask Emerson Stewart for details.

Maude Carpenter Childrens Home
The principal local mission activity supported by the church is Maude Carpenter Childrens Home - where spiritual as well as physical needs of youngsters and their families are being met. Our goal is to continue to increase our support of the home over the next five years to help it meet this regions needs.

One Time Assistance
This money is used to supplement the support for mission workers who are known and recommended by an East Point member. Over the years these funds have helped missionaries in a number of countries throughout the world.
